A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between Khulna University and Southeast Bank PLC on July 2.
Professor Dr. Md. Harunor Rashid Khan, who attended as the chief guest, emphasized in his speech that this MoU represents a significant milestone in the mutual cooperation between the two institutions.
He expressed optimism that the partnership would open up new opportunities for technology-based financial inclusion and access to modern banking services for the university community.
Several senior officials from both organizations were present at the event.
From Khulna University, key attendees included the Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, Registrar (Current Charge), Professor Dr. Md. Nazmus Sadat, Director of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Md. Enamul Kabir, Director of the Transport Pool, Professor Dr. Md. Ashiqur Rahman, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Abu Saleh Md. Parvez, Director (Current Charge) of the Finance and Accounts Division.
From Southeast Bank PLC, Ms. Bilkis Jahan the Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources Division, Muhammad Munirul Islam, Senior Vice President and Head of Branch, Khulna Branch, Md. Abdul Haye, Vice President & Head of Branch, Sir Iqbal Road Branch, Md. Shamsur Rahman Bhuiyan, Senior Assistant Vice President, Md. Sabbir Khan, In-Charge of the Khulna Card Center were in attendance, along with other representatives.
Under the terms of the agreement, Southeast Bank launched co-branded credit cards for faculty members and staffs and co-branded prepaid cards for students of Khulna University.
The faculty members and staffs will receive lifetime free credit cards with appropriate credit limits.
The prepaid card for students will offer simple usage and online transaction facilities, enabling them to make payments such as application fees to foreign universities as well as other payments domestic and worldwide.
The co-branded cards will feature the university’s logo as part of their branding.
